Specifications. Coal foundry coke

foundry coke represents solid fuel increased strength, the size of the pieces is larger than the domain. Also, the main difference between foundry coke and blast-furnace coke is the lower sulfur content, not exceeding 1%. Foundry coke grade KL-1 contains up to 0.6% sulfur of the total mass.

The production of foundry coke fraction +40mm is regulated in accordance with GOST 3340-88. It is obtained through high temperature processing. hard coal without air access, due to which volatile substances, excess moisture and other third-party impurities are almost completely removed.

Foundry coke KL-1 +40mm has the following characteristics:

  • strength indicators not less than 73.0%;
  • moisture content not more than 5.0%;
  • ash content not more than 12.0%;
  • sulfur content - no more than 0.6%;
  • the yield of volatile substances is 1.2%.

Foundry coke brand KL-1 is used:

  • as a fuel for iron smelting in blast furnaces and cupola furnaces for melting iron and steel in foundries;
  • as a high-quality smokeless fuel in the forging industry, in the production of ferroalloys, in the production of refractories;
  • for smokeless drying of premises during the execution finishing works, as a high quality smokeless fuel;
  • in the production of building materials for firing limestone, dolomite, gypsum;
  • as a sorbent in water treatment plants, for example, to remove machine oil.
